Aren’t there lots of “Bootcamps” in West London now?
But are all of them the same?
Below is an article I wrote a few months ago that helps you understand the difference between “The Complete Bootcamp” and a few of the other “Drop In” outdoor exercise solutions that are available in Chiswick at the moment.
If you want to really upset me simply try this.
Refer to “The Complete Bootcamp” as Outdoor Exercise Circuits.
Just watch my face change.
I probably won’t say anything, (After all I am a well brought up boy from Surrey) but inside my stomach will be turning.
The Complete Bootcamp Program is NOT OUTDOOR EXERCISE CIRCUITS!!!!!
To see exactly how our Compete Bootcamp program is different to the Outdoor Circuits you see many gyms throwing in the summer, read on…
Bootcamp runs over 28 days. Outdoor exercise circuits run over 60 minutes
A Bootcamp has a beginning date and an end date. It is a program designed to achieve a desired result (In our case to drop a clothes size in 28 days) being based around the military model of bringing new recruits up to a standard in minimum time.
Outdoor exercise circuit sessions are not designed for anything more specific than to give you a good workout in the fresh air. Very effective at doing this, but different to a bootcamp program.
A Bootcamp is about MORE THAN EXERCISE. Outdoor circuits aren’t.
Included in a bootcamp program should be a recomended nutrtional approach, (with recipes meal planners and social support) accountability and prizes for motivation, as well as a pre designed program of exercise. All of these elements will have been put together to help you drop a clothes size in 28 days.
Outdoor circuits will be designed to give the attendees a really good workout in 60 minutes. You will use a wide variety of muscles and burn more calories than you would in the gym, but what guidance you take with nutrtion and how you motivate yourself to turn up to the next session is very much in your hands.
A Bootcamp offers you ACCOUNTABILITY. Outdoor Circuits DON’T.
Our bootcamp sessions run on set days at set times for a set period of time. This means that if you miss a day, you don’t get your money back. It isn’t NICE but it WORKS (Remember our aim is to help you get results in 28 days – not 28 months)
Outdoor exercise circuits won’t charge you when you miss a session and they won’t offer to measure you at the beginning and end of the program either. You are there to have an effective 60 minutes of exercise, not to drop a clothes size in 28 days. They don’t need to measure you, because they are not offering a gaurantee or prizes.
A Bootcamp can gaurantee you drop a clothes size. Outdoor exercise sessions can’t.
The reason we can gaurantee you will lose at least a clothes size in 28 days on our program is because we KNOW IT WORKS. Every month we use the same formula to produce the same result. If you follow the formula you WILL get the RESULTS. We are constantly improving the formula but the fundamentals are the same.
Outdoor exercise sessions use a different formula because they are looking to achieve a different result. If you are looking to gaurantee an intense and effective workout in the fresh air you are on safe ground. However if you want to guarantee that you will drop a clothes size in 28 days, with all the nutrtional and lifestyle implications this will entail, outdoor exercise sessions are simply NOT designed to deliver this.
IN CONCLUSION
Now don’t get me wrong, I like outdoor exercise circuits. They are fun, very effective and relatively cheap. Perfect for lots and lots of people. Just look at the success of British Military Fitness.
However, what they offer is DIFFERENT to a Bootcamp.
Bootcamps are designed for people who really really want to see CHANGE in their body shape. And see it quickly. Nutriton is a big part of this process as is consistent exercise over a period of WEEKS rather than DAYS.
Everything in a bootcamp is designed to help you GET A RESULT in those 28 days.
Over the years that I have been running bootcamps the market has become flooded with new operations using the name BOOTCAMP without delivering the CONCEPT. (Even WE went through a phase of allowing people to pay a premium to drop in!)
Hopefully you now know the difference between a Bootcamp and Outdoor Exercise Circuits as well we do!
